While travelling though Devore space, Voyager must conceal their new cargo of telepathic refugees. When a Devore commander throws himself at Janeway's mercy, she must ask herself whether to trust him.

Using his holo-imaging device, the Doctor finds that someone has not only carried out surgery which he can't recall but also a large section on his memory has been deleted. Having "flashbacks", his investigations appear to uncover a conspiracy against him.

Aliens from a Firth Dimension mistake the "Captain Proton" holographic novel for reality. While Voyager is rendered helpless, Janeway must assume the role of Queen Arachnia. To help the aliens defeat the evil Dr Chaotica.

Trapped a a planet Tom and Tuvok spend months fending off attacks and relying on spiders for food. When a stranded alien falls in love with Tuvok, his Vulcan principles are tested to the limit.

The crew is amazed to find a wormhole leading to Earth, but Seven of Nine remains sceptical. While the crew become excited and prepare for the return, Seven violates the captain's orders and enlists the Doctor, Naomi and a alien pilot to help stop Voyager from entering the wormhole.
